Maria’s Kids, Inc. is a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities across Horry County, SC. Our mission is rooted in the belief that a dis ABILITY is not a dis ADVANTAGE. We partner with teachers, staff, families, and community organizations to create meaningful learning experiences, social opportunities, and pathways to success beyond high school.

Executive Director, Jennifer Geddie Ainsworth, transitioned from the classroom to lead Maria’s Kids, Inc. full time in 2024 after 18 years of teaching special education in Horry County Schools. She was honored as the 2015 South Carolina Teacher of the Year.
Maria's Kids was originally founded in 2008. Pictured are Mr. Gary Young (founder) along with Ms. Bradley . They made every event educational and fun!
